Catherine Wilson is an assistant professor of public law and government at the School of Government. She joined the School in 2025. Previously, she practiced law exclusively in the area of estates, trusts, and probate—first at Sirote & Permutt, P.C. (now Dentons Sirote) in Birmingham, AL, and later at McPherson, Rocamora, Nicholson, Wilson & Hinkle, PLLC, in Durham, NC, where she was a partner. In her role at the School, she teaches, advises, and writes about decedents’ estates and trusts, supporting the work of clerks of superior court and other North Carolina judicial officials in these areas of the law.
